Creating a 5.5m Marri River Table with a Custom Resin Colour – and a 30-Tonne Surprise
At JP Woodworks, we love a challenge — and this recent project ticked every box. One of our most rewarding bespoke furniture builds to date was a 5.5-metre Marri river table featuring waterfall ends and a custom resin colour unlike anything we’d done before.
Our client, Mark, is a passionate Birmingham City supporter. He had one special request: the resin colour in the table had to match his football jersey exactly. We worked closely with him to colour match the resin to perfection. The moment he visited our workshop to inspect the sample was a big one — and as you can see from the photo, it hit the mark.
Delivery Challenge: A First-Floor Apartment and a 30-Tonne Crane
The next challenge? Getting this massive, solid timber dining table into Mark’s first-floor apartment. The original plan involved using a piano lifter, but it quickly became clear that wasn’t going to cut it — the lifter’s trailer wheels started lifting off the ground! In true JP Woodworks style, we adapted on the fly and called in a 30-tonne crane to lift the table through the apartment window.
